- 6 oz Cooked turkey breast (sliced thin)
- 2 tbsp Cranberry sauce
- 2 slices Bread (whole grain or sourdough)
- 2–3 leaves Lettuce (romaine or butterhead)
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- Sliced cucumbers (Optional)
- Baby spinach (Optional)
- Avocado (Optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients – Begin by getting all the necessary ingredients ready and prepared to save time. Wash and pat dry the lettuce leaves, get the spreads and add-ons of your choice, and lastly slice the turkey breast.
- Toast the Bread – Next, dry toast the bread slices. This not only improves the bread consistency ppgrade but also helps the bread not become damp and unhappy due to the shades of cranberry sauce.
- Spread the Mayonnaise
- To each slice of bread, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise (or your choice of replacement) on one side. This layer keeps the sandwich moist in addition to adding some creaminess.
- Layer the Turkey – Make sure the turkey slices are laid out evenly on one slice of the sandwich. Add them slightly on top of each other for even coverage.
- Add the Cranberry Sauce – Spoon the sauce on the turkey and spread it evenly, along the sides too. As per your liking, you can increase or reduce the quantity of the cranberry sauce according to how sweet you want it to be.
- Add Fresh Greens – Lettuce or other leafy vegetables such as spinach can be layered over the cranberry sauce. If you want more crunch, add some sliced cucumbers or grated carrots too.
- Assemble the Sandwich – After that, all you have to do is add the second slice of bread on top of all other toppings, but this time, the mayonnaise side should be facing down. Afterwards, you will want to give it a gentle push so that all other layers will get secured.
- Slice and Serve – Lastly, the sandwich can be sliced along its bias cut for subsequent serving either immediately or storing away using a tight wrap.
